About Us:
Mourning Glory Publishing puts out books of poetry and memoir by writers of color, and writers from other marginalized communities. We believe that society cannot be equitable or just when the voices of marginalized peoples are not shared, and we are committed to bringing those voices from margin to center, uplifting the words of people of color, trans and queer people, people with disabilities, neuroatypical/neurodivergent people, and others.
We are based in Portland, Oregon.
Mission & Values:
We publish the work of members of marginalized communities, in order to: create access for those writers traditionally shut out of publishing, provide financial support to those most likely to face financial hardship, facilitate learning about issues of social inequity, foster collaboration between and within communities, and build compassionate understanding in our readers.
